Government Proposal to Regularised Undocumented Migrants

Justice Minister Helen McEntee has released further information on the scheme which is expected to be up and running before the end of the year.

One of the criteria to qualify for this scheme is that applicants must reside without valid permission for four years.

Successful applicants will have

unrestricted access to the labour market.

It is important to note that the standard immigration conditions such as the requirement to be of good character will apply when assessing applications under this scheme.

This is very good news for the thousands of undocumented migrants and their families residing in the state.
